Remote software installation on Windows 2000 WKS?

Post by Dogmeat »

Does anyone know if there is native Windows 2000 capability to have software installed on a workstation from a server remotely? Essentially what I'd like to be able to do is install hotfixes in perticular, but also if possible, applications, etc to Windows 2000 workstations within Windows 2000 forrest remotely, so I don't have to PCanywhere into each machine, log the user out, log in administrative, install the hotfix, reboot, and log the user back in ... this is way way way too time consuming.

I don't know if you can do this nativly, or if it would require a 3rd party software package. Either way would be fine ...

Any suggestions welcomed, thanks =)

I think there is a way to do this. I can remember reading it somewhere. If you need instructions and more detials the best bet would be to ask someone on microsoft technet. They can usually point you to the right place.

Hope this helps a bit
