WinXP Pro Start up problem.

Post by Evilone »

Every time I restart my computer windows fails to load, it gets to that moving bar window and starts back over. it does this 5-10 before windows loads. If I shutdown my computer then turn it back on windows loads fine every time. I did chkdsk c:/r and it came back with no errors. So I think it has something to do with windows itself. When it restarts over and over and I pick boot in safe mode it hangs on loading sptd.sys so I hit escape to cancel and it will usually boot into safe mode, few times it didn't. sptd.sys goes with deamon tools. I downloaded newest version but doesn't seem to fix the problem. I'm not sure if this is whats causing windows to fail to start with I restart. Are there any logs that are saved when windows fails to load which might tell me the problem, or a program that might help me.

Next time get into safe mode do this:
rt click My Comp > select Properties
Advanced Tab > Startup & recovery > Settings button
System failure > uincheck Automatically restart

This will allow you to see the BSOD & from there can determine what the failure is.

And while in Windows have a look at the Events Viewer to see what else is giving errors. Control Panel > Admin Tools > Event Viewer
No one has any right to force data on you
and command you to believe it or else.
If it is not true for you, it isn't true.
