Best defrag, and other speed inducers?
What is the best, hopefully free, defragger? And what else is recommended to run very week to help mintain my laptops performance?
I know there is a ton of stuff on here I dont use, its a ne laptop, but I a unsure what I can safely delete. Should I ring it somewhere and have them look at it, or would one of those services that can work on your comp/laptop from online, while your on it be able to do it?

DkLite is also good but is nearly as slow on XP as is the windows defragger. With XP, the defragging programmes seem to have slowed down but a considerable amount.
I have no idea why but I still use DkLite and start it before going to bed. Then it will be finished in the monring. I also use Zone alarm free version and set it to stop all internet traffic whilest defragging overnight so our happy little hackers don't have a machine to try to break into while the owner is sleeping.

Yes I realize this but some of them pop up a warning that this may effect the use of other programs....wish to continue? Thats the problem I dont want to mess up any other programs while uninstalling these ones.

When you highlight office set-up it says......
It is recommended that you not remove these files unless you have access to the original installation media.

Do you have the original CDs? The setup files will let you reinstall office if you need to, not important if you have the office CDs, if you dont have the office CDs, then those files become important.BostonBull wrote:When you highlight office set-up it says......
