Win95 - get free joke as thanx 4 solving my default dir window presentation problem

Post by faster »

I've used Win95 for a long time and still have not found a way to make my directory windows come up the way I want. The size is too small, the toolbar is not on them, and it always presents large icons (and they overlap making them unreadable) Thus: every time I open a directory, I have to adjust the size, add the toolbar, select details, and then I can use it. There's gotta be a way to make a new default, but I've searched a long time and can't fine one. Does anyone have a method for reconfiguring this default presentation of directory windows? I'll send a joke (sort of pg13-ish - pretty clean, but very funny) by return e-mail to any darling who solves this problem that costs me useless hours every month. Thanks, all.

I'm not sure but I believe the option to "remember each folder's view settings" is part of the Active Desktop package that came with win98. And I believe there is a way to get that function in win95. I'm not sure how though as I never used win95.

Thanks for the suggestion, TonyT; it would help a lot if I had Active Desktop, which I don't, so I must be SOL unless some other person has a back-door approach.

The joke, however, I'll share freely.
