Another generic host error

Post by DudeofDude »

I have seemed to run into a fun error with the Generic Host Process and keep having it crash which kills my audio and my windows controlled wireless so I can not change the default router connection.

I have run a complete Virus scan, fully up to date windows, and spyware sweep. I can't seem to find the problem and have even tried disabling the windows updater with no luck. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated before I reformat windows.

Thank You.

Update

Post by DudeofDude »

From what I can tell there may have been some type of virus since one of my backups said there was a virus in the HijakThis program.

The nice part is that Dell uses Systematic system restore which allows you to re install windows to how it was when the system was first received in about 10 mins. (Hold Ctrl and F11 at dell screen right after bios). So I reset did a Virus scan update, window update and have started to replace firefox and my other trusted software.

Hope this provides help to someone even if it is a pain to back up data.
