Hi its been awhile since I posted, here goes.
I have a 2.4gHz p4, 160Gb mem & 1Gb Ram, OS Windows XP sp2.
My problem is I have no sound when I go to youtube web site I've updated macromedia flash player to v7.0. I'm lost can anyone help or have any suggestions?
Thanks ahead.

I've downloaded Adobe Flash Player 9 and updated windows media player 11, I've tried all the simple things, ie: speakers on, volume sliders slid;the main volume controls in windows has been checked and all levels are good. While on youtube I have checked the volume on the vid player. Now my wife tells me ther is no volume on here Martha Stewart site.
So that is why I'm here I've had problems before that you guys have fixed I thought maybe someone could help again.

If you play an mp3 file will it play fine?
I'm just going out but I will check this when I return mp3 do play without a hitch
You seem to be the only one looking after me I thank you for all your help
I've heard of issues with flash player not causing it to show video but not with audio... did you update any drivers for audio? Any windows updates prior to the issue? Are you running a toolbar like google or yahoo? One of those caused a similar problem on a womans computer I fixed once.
YARDofSTUF wrote:Searching google for flash problems with no sound sure brings up a lot of results for all OSes...
Ok I've checked the Device Manager and no yellow exclamation marks, I have not updated any audio drivers or installed any windows updates lately. I have no tool bars. Google opens up in the Mozilla OS but that's it.
Hopefully someone can find some answers for me.
Thanks in advance.
this is directly from Youtubes Help link on audio:
Why can't I hear the audio when I'm watching a video?
To make sure that you hear sound while watching videos, please check the volume controls on your computer. Also, be sure to increase the volume on other conventional video players on your computer, such as Real Player or Windows Media. This may have an effect on your computer's master volume levels. Next, check to see if your system meets these requirements for running the video player:
Macromedia Flash Player 7.0+ plug-in
Windows 2000 or higher with latest updates installed
Mac OS X 10.3 or higher
Firefox 1.1+, Internet Explorer 5.0+, or Safari 1.0+
Broadband connection with 500+ Kbps
If your system meets all the requirements, but the video player still isn't working properly, please try troubleshooting with a different browser. Remember to test the audio on multiple videos!

Thanks Sava700 I've read the same article and have checked all the listed requirements, I am running: MacroMedia Flash 9 Adobe
Windows XP sp2
Mozilla 5.0 FireFox 2.0.02
Internet Explorer 7
The only one I'm unsure of is if my Broadband connection is 500 + Kbps, could someone tell me how I would finding this out.
Sava700 wrote:ok how about just doing a system restore back about a week or the date it saved stuff before you couldn't hear audio no more. Do that and post back.
Sorry for the delay been away for awhile, did what you asked went back to start of year this did not help, hope you have another idea or two. If not thanks for your assistance.

You guys are amazing thank you for all your time checking this out for me.
Please have a great day and a fantastic weekend. Have one on me.
I would suggest a run of spybot search and destroy along with whatever other spyware detection you have after running that..it may have not fixed the issue but masked it with some spyware... I don't trust that after looking at.
