I goofed up my files
I'm using Win98SE. I tried to make my .jpg files open with paint instead of another program (Image Expert). Now when I try to open a .jpg picture I get a prompt "C:\My bmp was not found". I tried to do this in "file types" in the folder options box by changing the extension.
Where did I go wrong?
What is the default viewer for a .jpg file?
TIA

Roundeye,
If you want a really cool file viewer, go with ACDSee from http://www.acdsystems.com It even associates the different file types with a friendly color code. You'll like it!

Doh, how do I make a .jpg open up automatically with paint when I click on a jpg that is in My Documents folder? If I open paint first then go to file, open, I can select a jpg to open. But in My Documents if I click on a jpg, it will open with iexplorer.
Does this make any sense to y'all or am I just babbling here?

Ya, I understand
IE is the default viewer I think. You said that you tried to change it in "file types"? I just tried it, and it worked for me...
When you opened File types, highlight the "JPG" Click on Opens With:Change
now select paint and click close. Now test to see if it works....Tomorrow, I'll talk to you on ICQ if you still can't get it to work.
