Onboard sound

Post by cy »

Hi guys,

I just put together a PC which has onboard sound. It's AC97 5.1 channel sound, comes with this motherboard: http://www.foxconnchannel.com/Product/m ... -us0000167

The sound is not working! It IS enabled in BIOS as "Auto" as there was only Auto/Disable to choose from. Windows DID detect the sound card and i have updated it to the latest driver. Just trying to see whether there are any minor settings that I have missed to stop it from working, or maybe I should just RMA the board?

Yes, the speakers are not muted :) I did try to use a working set of headphones to make sure it's not my speakers, no luck.

Thanks!
Chris

Problem fixed.

It was because the circuit for the front audio is not closed. When the front audio is not connected, I must use a jumper in the RIGHT AUDIO OUT / RIGHT AUDIO RETURN and LEFT AUDIO OUT / LEFT AUDIO RETURN pins to close the circuit.
