DirectX 8.0 Problems.....................

I installed DirectX 8.0 and now it has expired (Problems,Problems). Now, how do I replace it with 7.0A? I am running ME and have tried uninstalers microsofts windows (8 solution and setting my clock back. I now ther is a hacker out there. Please tell me how to do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

actually, there is no easy way to revert back to dx7a (i have tried the MS method of reinstalling it, but it wont go back in versions. it only enables you to reinstall a current version). all you really need to do, is run the dx8 installer again, and it will overwrite itself, "updating" direct draw (thats probably the one that has "expired"). if you need to download it again (the olod links dont work anymore), i think brent had said he was gonna put it on his site (coremeltdown.com). if that doesn't work, i know there are a bunch of people who have it on their system for this exact reason (i went through the same exact scenario you are).

Go tp www.coremeltdown.com and click on Files>files/benchmarks>D

Then d/l the NEWEST DX8 (RC1 version)

search your c drive for dx8...and when you find the .exe file, run it...it will uninstall dx8
