Hello,
When playing Unreal Tournament 2004 online, i get 5 packets lost every few seconds. This doesnt make a major difference, but at higher pings its very noticeable.

Its meant to be a 7.6mbit down/128k up line, but im 3km from the exchange which is over loaded from the recent entire country (NZ) going to full speed adsl.
Anything i can do to stop packet loss? Or increase speeds?

Packet losses can happen right from the modem and along the signal path to the game server.
This tool from PC Ptistop may be able to help locate where packet losses are occurring:

packetloss most of the time is an ISP problem, there's very little you can do but i have a little reccomendation....
open your registry and go here:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
in Parameters create a new DWORD and type this Tcp1323Opts
after you created it, double click it, choose DECIMAL and then type 3
close registry editor and reboot.
this will enable TIMESTAMPS, it adds some headers but it can help with Packet Loss.
i am surprised nobody wrote about this, lazy arses.

But I usually do not recommend to activate it. If packet losses occur within our hardware or line, we should address and correct the fault. If it occurs in our ISP's network, we info them to correct it.
In this case, packet losses are occurring beyond our ISP's network and I would recommend to look for another game server.
