Geez....Why don't yall try Charter Pipeline!!!

Post by dbnukes »

Ya know...everybody is talking about their cable providers being slow and lagging, high ping times and the like and yet they are still getting around 2-3Mbps minimum on a slow night or day. Well, hey why don't ya try Charter Pipeline for a change! How would you like to constantly never get over 400 kbps every time you run a speed test and how would you like to always download something at around 15-25kbps? Now my friends, that sucks so everytime you folks complain about your speed suffering, please say a prayer and think about your poor fellow Charter Pipeline users who only wish they could get the speeds that yall are getting!

I use Charter Pipeline also and I do have a little good news for my area. A customer of my store works for Charter and he told me that Charter is indeed upgrading, he is a regular and I can believe what he tells me. The branch I'm on had T1 connections and they are upgrading to T3, so maybe my connection will back were it started last year. It seems Charter really did take notice of all the complaints. Maybe they will upgradeing in your area soon also.

Dude, dont advertise for cable here.lol. 1st almost no people here wil be able to change to chart since not avalable every where and charter speed quality is diff every where. I have charter and i think it blows. 512 down 128 up (recently updated) and i cant even be pinged. They closed the ports so i cant. Very annoying since i am a gamer. This is the only cable isp too.

Get a load of this..I called today to cancel my Charter Pipeline service and the winch at the customer service dept. was as rude as all get out with me! She asked why I was cancelling and I told her that the service stinks and is horrible and she said that they are better than any other cable or DSL available(Ha Ha Ha yeah right!) Who is she trying to kid and with an attitude like that, she'll surely chase away more customers. Oh well..who cares, Charter is history for me now. Allelulia!!!!!! :D

By the way, if you live in southern Louisiana like around the Covington, Abita Springs, Mandeville, Madisonville, Waldheim, etc. area, don't waste your time with the Charter Pipeline..if you get it you'll be sorry!! Mark my words! And by the way, if you do get it and get angry, don't e-mail me because I'm no longer at charter.net Ha Ha

pipeline is a farse. had it and got rid of it for dsl. dsl is 5 times faster than charter ever dreamed of being. i was their first customer localy, and when i returned the modem, they asked why i was leaving. told them i was going with dsl. they stated they were faster, i exlained that i was already running dsl, and getting 5 times the speed. they shut right up!they stated that they need to know such things so that they can improve their service. that was 4 months ago. stopped at a friends house the other day to asist him. downloaded with pipeline, guess what? same old slooowwww speeds. they suck and they know it!

well as I said all along heh..... Charter blows.. .i am sorry to say it as well.. . Imean when I first got it I thought 20k a sec was fast but hell I didn't know what fast was.. I got 50k - 70k on good times and I will still excited with my lil 100 pings.. but now they are 200 and above and I only get like 2k - 10k a sec down....

Now I knew all a long everyone's cable was always faster than that ... like road runner and etc... but it's not available around here and neither is dsl.. so of course I said it was good .. heh..... and I was satisfied simply because I could actually view a webpage that was actually clear... heh.... like all the images actually loaded up .. but it's now getting worse than before..

The tech support refuses to answer my phone calls and most of the time I am slower than a 56k and have taken 50 tests in one day to prove it ... all in different times.. for example.. none traffic times.... 150 kbps down... traffic times... 32 kbps... They sent a person to check my line once.. he said no static... which I don't think static is the problem. And he couldn't tell me how many people where on my node all he said was they ran the lines on a T3 meaning a single T3! Unless his grammer is dramatically bad or something.   I have tried everything :) heh... nothing illegal I mean by pestering the tech support and they are ignoring my calls which occording to my contract is illegal I believe.. ... however I am not for sure what that falls under....  just trying out the faces... heh. .simply because that's what I said when I couldn't get them to answer my phone call and this is only the third time I called the tech support...

You guys aren't giving me much to look forward too. I live in the St. Louis area and @Home just agreed to sell their St. Louis customers to Charter. Sounds like things are going from bad to worse. Ugh.

I think there should be some kind of regulation for these cable companies when they say that they provide something, then they should provide it. Remember at the end of December 00 ispchannel went bankrupt? Well my cable company is still using them and for the last 2 1/2 months have been telling me they are going to switch to @home. My speeds never reach over 200kbps throughput and since the first of the year I no longer have newsgroups and they have taken away the regular e-mail. They went with something weird and the customer service told me it would be better to use Yahoo mail. Not that I'm complaining here, I reserve that to customer support to get yet another month free. :D

For the ones with Charter don't feel to bad this is why I have DSL because here is one thats worse... http://www.primecablechi.com/internet_pricing.htm
the add will show as a oneway cable provider since it has changed two way the price and the speed are worse...
I do feel for anyone that is stuck with something like Charter or this I really do but then again it could be dialup not sayin this is much better.... :) :(

I have had charter pipeline in duluth minnesota for about a month. They installed it about 3 days after I called to request it. My initial speed was about 40 kilobits per second for a download from a fast site. I was a little disapointed. I started looking around and found this site. Apparently one of my regular ISP's that I had had must have tweaked my defaultrcvwindow with their install program because it was set at about 4000. I upped it to about 60000 and bang, 2000 kilobits per second average ranges from 1500 to 2500. $5 dollar installation $5 dollar first month. No contract required, cancel whenever you want. Like I said, I have only had it a month, but after the tweak I am VERY satisfied with charter.
