Just finished this one today.

It Can't Happen Here, by Sinclair Lewis

Very interesting reading.

I've also finished Al Franken's last book.

Two Ken Keasy novels on the burner....Looking forward to them if either is as good as Sometimes a Great Notion.

Thinking about animal husbandry, Zilog?

You must have a pretty good chunk of land if your thinking of raising cattle!

Nah, I was mainly interested in the chicken and goat sections. I don't have enough grass to last a cow a week. Only 6 1/3 acre here. Almost all trees.

However my Brother In Law raises cows, we are splitting 2 cows between 3 people next fall, should be good eatin'

If I lived just a bit more out, I'd raise chickens. Something about raising your own for butchering. No burst bones....bigger and imho, better for you.

Since the parents sold the farm, I miss homegrown. If I had a nickle for ever chicken that I've helped pluck, I'd be as rich as Immy.

After cleaning those turkeys last week.. it wasn't bad at all. I'm probably going to order up 25 meat birds next spring to put in the freezer in the fall. All the chickens I have now are egg layers / pets. I'd have to be dang hungry to eat the two roosters I have now.

Actually, I have not, been so wrapped up in reading all these baby mags and books that are thicker than the Bible, that I've not paid as much attention to The Word, thanks for reminding me ;)

I actually did type with a "t" out of speed typing...by the time I saw and fixed...you probably read and had begun the search. Although searching including author still brought it up..cuz when I searched I also used a "T". LOL

I didn't read it...was in my mind because I saw it on some interview with Frank on TV recently. There's some friends of mine down the street..his name is Frank Rich..I grew up with his son. Different Frank Rich..but he was also from New York..and they used to have a "Frank Rich" for mayor or senate or whatever..magnates on their fridge...from the political Frank Richs election campaign for some office. (I think it was NY)
