It can be done, Thats my low averg. now on my 1.5Mb ADSL line.

dannjr....on your site you say that you program is written for Mindspring users. Does it work with other DSL ISP's ? I have ADSL with Bellsouth and wondered if I could use any of your tweaks ? Thanks....

Well they had been built around the Mindspring connection and to keep Mindspring happy I left part of that in but they work fine with most of the ADSL connections..
I would love to say they work for all of them bt not all connections are the same...
Have fun with them, there is more than one PPPoE tweak in the download and it comes with a return to default file..

How do you use them...??
most of the files here at speedguide and on mine are .INF or .REG files the .inf file right click on them and it will open a small window click on install.
The .REG files just click on them and follow the small screens that open..
All the files come zipped up so you will need something like Winzip to open them initially...
Make sure you backup the registry before you use anything that changes the registry..

First you have to unzip it, use Winzip or something

then you just Right Click on it and if it's a .inf file you clikc on Install, if it's a .reg file then you click on Merge.

Then reboot your computer for changes to take effect

You CAN use patches on DSL just as you can use it on any high speed Internet connection.

If you are using a budget DSL account (less than 512 KB/s) then you probably aren't going to see much if any increase in speed.

If you have a 512 KB/s connection the max you can download at is 65 Kbytes per second.

Cable in general is capped at a higher speed so people see a much larger result.

You really have to find what works best for your connection. (No really)
I use the Cablenut.exe for cable and a supliment reg file It works great with DSL.
Note my speed when not tweaked is half that speed if not slower.
Good luck on getting it fast.

ok dannjr, whats the difference between using the combo of yours and cablenut's, or the speedguide adsl tweak? i am running w98se, have a PPPoA connection at 1.5mb down and 256kb up. speedguides does not mention the use with PPPoA. also, it was my (mis)understanding that due to overhead, i should see only 85% of my max up and download speeds, yours saying that i can go further? thanks in advance. if you and or speedguide can do it, your the man!
