Thats why I am doing this.. and every is like " Ohh thats not real.. thats some PS job or its cashed or something =
SINGLE MINDED people.. Have the system I got and the NIC/Router/Modem maybe you guys could know.. but its all based on what you know (SINGLE MINDED) and everything else is "FAKE"
for small files you may have a speed burst where the cap that's in place doesn't have time to kick in or the phase of the sun or moon is in the right place and all the planets are lined up and for a an instant you have a lot of speed
or something

Ok Im just gonna post this things that would make a difference on this speed:
A Athlon 1 gig at 1.18
256 megs of DDR Memory
A 3Com Dual Speed Hub (16 ports)
A 3com Etherlink Server 10/100 with the 3XP chip onboard
A gerneic Docsis compaible cable modem
Thats all I think that would make a difference?
Buth the Hub and NIC card talk back and forth for less/better packet loss/drop and better optimzation (I 80% sure)

When I do that I get a d/l of about 300K-2.1megs.. Just matters Some T-3 or OC-3 FTP's I get like 2.0 megs a sec.. no joke.. and then d/ling a demo of Motocross maddness off of microsoft I get like 500K-700K
The reason everyone is claiming its fake, is because a cable modem is only capable of doing 10mbps, and in those pictures you have taken the speed is much greater. You are seeing a disk cached speed burst, not your modem speed.
Thank you Brent for looking in to the hubs . Such as smarthubs called by some manufacter and DualPort by others. I would really Like to see a post on this. If there is a better one then I got I would like to check into it. They are mainly used in busniess more then home use. May it would clear up some of the proublems of people claiming they do not exist. Thankyou. You Have My Vote on this. They are great for speed I will admitt that.
Thanks Adam Y That one is on the order of mine. Might look more into it. Sounds Like a good one. www.linksys.com has a few. But Not like that one for that price.
overclocking ur proc. wont help ur speed, and no modem on teh #home network will get u over 10mbps! Thats all i have to say, if u want to prove to us that its real, take a video recorder and video tape teh whole download.
Yep, another teenager running amok with too much time on his hands and his parents paying for his cable connection. PLEASE Brent, CLOSE the thread...He is claiming to get 2940 kilo bytes per second or approximately 23.52 mega bits per second. That is 7.84 times the maximum advertised speed for @Home. Also, I will be checking the modem interfaces at work in the next couple of days. I could be wrong, but, I think that the DOCSIS modems only include a 10 base T interface, NOT a 10/100. Granted, the modem itself is capable is much higher speeds, but I think the ethernet interface is only a 10 base T which is 10 megabits approx.
