Post by konFused »

Can someone help me please...when i start my computer up with the x64 cd to format my HD it just boots up normally straight into windows xp and starts my computer up again..for some reasno it wont let me boot it off the x64 cd..and when i try to run the cd straight off my d drive it says

"This version of Windows must be installed by booting off of the CD."
"Please reboot your computer with the CD in the drive."

so i do so...i keep it in my drive and reboot the comp..still nothing wont let me use it to boot up...idk what is wrong...ive used this same cd to install on a different machine and it worked fine..now idk what is wrong...and my cd rom drive is brand new..its a DVD r/RW...anyways i would appreciate all the help thank you.

you need to go into the bios and change the 'boot' options to boot from cdrom first.
