winipcfg
Try uninstalling the nic and moveing it to a different slot in the pc. Even if you have to switch it with another card. This might solve your problem. Post back and let me know. Or if you want just try reinstalling the software for the nic. If this don't work do what I told you in the begaining. Also check with your provider to see if you have to let them know you switched nics. Some providers you have to do this with,Luckly with mine you don't.
:nod:Have A Nice Day!!!!!!!!!
Since your are running Win95 you might want to install the Winsock2 Update as it has an improved TCP/IP implementation:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/bin/W95ws2setup.exe
I'm not sure if this will fix your specific problem of Winipcfg not recognizing your NIC. Now I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt but is the drop-down arrow in Winipcfg indicating only PPP or is there more than one choice? If so are you actually selecting your NIC (and not PPP)?!!
If not then one more suggestion is to remove you sound card and/or other pci cards and just try to reinstall the NIC on every slot until one works. Once the NIC works then you can reinstall the sound card. Upgrading the O/S to a newer version may also work. Then again it may just be a incompatibility problem with the brand of NIC and your motherboard ... it would help your troubleshooting if you can borrow your friend's computer to test out the Internet connection.

Thanks for all your help, but to be honest I just started as a @home installer and ran into this on my first day.
I left the customers house after 2 hours, and I did such a nice job of running the cable.
The other installers say It is a common problem with Win95 and less than 133mhz.
Unfortunately we do not have the time to spend all day on one customer.

Our minimum is win95 and 133, 32. I wish they would change to win98, 200, 32.
I dont understand why someone getting this service would have at least that.
As far as Binding, I am not sure how to check that. Our training was very basic with not much in the way of troublrshooting.
Please explain how I can check this.

I aplaud u Max, not many ppl for @HOM care to learn from their mistakes!
If it is Their processer causeing this updateing the os will help. Or They might want to change the processer. I know with the old 100 processer I had they told me I would have to upgrade but I never did. I just add more memory at the time and updated to win 95. Because 98 wasn't out yet. Then it worked fine. This was about 4 years ago. I run Roadrunner. So They might just want to and some memory. This might help Them out with Their problem. I took mine from 32 to 64 and it worked fine. GoodLuck! I don't even have the computer now. I sold it to a friend and they are still running rr on it. GoodLuck!
I would relay this to them. Do to they are paying for a service their not getting. Plus as was posted to make sure their TCP/IP Protocol is bined to their nic.
