internet problems
I have cable connection and my internet service provide is AT&T.My problem is if I go on the internet and browse the net for a while, then after a while I go to another site and it says connecting to site..... for about 30 seconds(this happens alot)and then it finally loads the website. Also if I'n playing a game online after a while it says I got disconnected.I've tried changing servers for cable and releasing and renewing my ip address and gateway.I've e-mailed the company and they replied to my saying to call technical support.I've tried that the past 3 days but they were either busy or closed. It would help if anyone here knew the answer to this problem.

Don't wait. They aren't motivated until you harass them and it may not be an outage.Originally posted by boricua021:
I've been having a problem with my connection for about a week now too. I'm trying to give them time to fix it if there is a problem without calling. But its starting to get real annoying. They might get a buzz soon. AT&T@HOME...

Firstly does pressing the Refresh button load the page up? Sometimes the page doesn't come up quickly on the first attempt.
Assuming it still takes forever to load the page even after pressing Refresh, you might want to go to your Internet Options and unchecking any Auto-Script or Auto-Config detection or Proxy Server settings. Clear your Temporary Internet Files cache and delete your cookies.
After you do this and if your problem still persists then do one more test. Find out your gateway IP using winipcfg. Run a continuous ping on it: ping -t <gateway IP>. If you are dropping packets badly then that is the cause of the problem. If no packet loss then verify it again by rerunning the ping test with larger packets: ping -t -l 1400 <gateway IP>.
If none of the above helps then is it any website that causes this delay or only on particular sites? You might want to tinker with your browser's security level and reduce it to a lower level as this could be the problem.
