I often wonder if the voices in my head ever get frustrated because I'm just too damn lazy to climb that clock tower.

Iraq based hopping from one FOB to another FOB via Blackhawks. No convoys for this dude...not after my first and last one back in 2004.

Jobs over here are paying in the 15K/mo (low end) to 25K/mo and upward.
I have over 11 million Iraqi dinar purchased with 2 accounts set up here and in Iraq. I can't wait for it to hit the International market so I can get the hell out of this wasteland. When it hits I will be on the first flight to Switzerland.
I have to make things happen for myself much sooner. I figure 2 years of sacrificing up North can make my dream a reality. Hell, I've been here already in Kuwait for almost 2 years now and it only feels like 5 months or so. Time flies out here.
I should have taken the job offers up North when I first got here in 2004. I would already be building my house in the Philippines, drinking at my own Tiki Bar and singing Elvis songs with my Karaoke machine on my own private beach.

So, hows the heat and humidity treating you these days? Please don't tell us that you run around the house naked.

Yikes! even i couldn't stand to see "That" Joint Chiefs of Staff

The old A/C is pumping out a storm to keep things under control. Been running to Doctors appointments for 2 weeks now and the humidity at times is a killer outside. Thankfully the old truck is conditioned as well.
A lot of rain lately and temps in the 30C range, very uncomfortable but nothing to compare with what you have to put up with i'm sure. They say Phoenix hit 47C the other day, more in keeping with your temps i would think.

Nice thing about being both old and retired, i don't give a Sh*t what i look like anymore as long as i'm comfortable, so shorts and a T it is.

Stay cool & be safe my Friend.

Buddy,
You know i have been here so long and have saw things go up and down, you know what i have been through and everything.
IMHO please talk to me, just me and you and let me give you the real deal here; not the media talking. Yes the money sounds good and i know you very well and you can deal with it.
Just get with me and let me know your plans and i will let you know my thoughts, and on top of that there might be something brewing for you.
Do not let the money talk to you yet till you have a good chat with me.

This is a twice in a lifetime opprotunity that I've already passed on before. You don't get to many chances in life to retire at an early age. I know what I'm getting into and it's solely my decesion nobody's else.blebs99 wrote:Into Iraq? Dude I'd like to see you live to have that house and bar in the Phillipines. You know, sometimes I think your pursuit of the dollar is what is going to be your downfall. Sorry, had to say it.
Ross I respect you and your voice but given the same opprotunity to you some years ago, would you not take the leap?

Actually the most dangerous place on earth right now is West of me, not north. I will be will protected. I mean it's not like I'll be driving Ms. Daisy all over Baghdad at 20 MPH.Izzo wrote:Ya, you know the situation better than I but you couldn't get me to go to Iraq for all the tea in China. I really couldn't say. All I can say is that I have a bad feeling about this, but yes, of course it's your decision and not mine. Like i told you the other day when we chatted about your decision and i said you could handle all that comes your way that is the truth.
Yes you will be able to reitre earlier then you planned on, you are able to call me if you ever need anything here. Three years here i have a great network of good old men from my back ground, so many of them say they are done and go back for a few months and then i get a phone call from them telling me they are back.
You know the SitRep here and understand it that is a benifit for you, so many newbies come in here thinking it is like there backyard and it is not. You have that on your side, as you know what i have been through here in my three years and i do not regret it at all.
If you ever need assitance when you are here don't be scared to dial the number.
Next person to get here is "MadDoc" working on the gods who be to get him here as here are so many sheep for him to flock

Buddy do not regret your decision we talked about that and you are golden.
Tikki hut here we come on the golden beach's with "opps getting ready to run before i get hit" LBG's. all around us saying Sit and spin

For the last 2 nights I've waited for you to come on Yahoo like the bitch (your bitch) I am. Do not disappoint me this time or I will personally send a security patrol up your ways to pull your arms away from your pc, girl or beer.

And JUST so you know, it's not going to be LSA Anaconda. Somewhere a bit north but South of Mosul.
Pick the outpost (hint) and I'll post naked pictures of me on SG. If you get it wrong (one shot) you have to post pictures of MD, Ken and P (pics of downhill optional).

What is Pammie's opinion?
 j/k
j/kPamie's opinion....she hates it and crys on a whim when Iraq is mentioned. She also understands that women held me up or I put my life on hold for women in my past. She said won't stand in my way of my dreams. We will be together through this. Maybe not together physically but perhaps in other forms. Consider it a right of passage. Will love stand the test of time and distance? Only time will tell but I/we have faith and understanding in the knowledge that we have each other.
