IMO if it runs stable on their systems and they find out about it.. they should leave it alone.. to me the faster it goes the more stable you have since its not longggg downloads or uploads bogging down the system as it is completed faster.

They bought out my cable company and were waiting for approval. I hope when they get in they give us an upgrade on service. That sounds nice. What were your pings on the game server?

I got double your up...but my down is consistent at 353. Comcast

I'll have to connect direct to the modem once, Stonecat previously pointed out to me that the router I'm using has been a buggy unit in the past. I better check my speeds w/o the router.

Wanna switch?

Last Result:
Download Speed: 3768 kbps (471 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 350 kbps (43.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

Rumor has it our ISP is promising speed increases in the near future. The CEO of Insight communications posted in Insightbb's broadband reports forums about the changes and offered an apollogy to all Insightbb users. We shall see.....

Heh....yet another bump up this week....for several days in a row I'm nudging into the 60's. :D

There's a fulltime thread over at dslreports about it..calling it "Comcast Powerboost"...Comcast is keeping tight lipped about it..but a few "leaks" do state that they are upgrading, and one guy that said he was a Comcast employee said they're coming out with a gaming package too. (yes it's a forum...so take it with a grain of salt)

Took this benchmark/screenie this morning. :D

Found an announcement...
"yahoo.reuters.com/stocks/quoteco···01333443

Comcast gives speed boost for large Web downloads
Thu Jun 1, 2006 1:18 PM ET
NEW YORK, June 1 (Reuters) - Comcast Corp. (CMCSA.O: Quote, Profile, Research), the leading U.S. cable operator, said on Thursday it will provide subscribers technology to increase the speed of their Internet connections, particularly to help transmit bandwidth-heavy video and music files.

Comcast developed the technology, called PowerBoost, to use existing capacity within its network to a speed of 12 to 16 megabytes per-second on services which generally transmit at 6 to 8 megabytes per second.

It said the service will kick in automatically for its 9 million high-speed Internet subscribers at no extra charge when a customer downloads a large file such as software applications, games, music and video.

The Philadelphia-based company launched the service without fanfare in its New England region markets last month after a trial period. A company spokeswoman said it expects to roll out the service nationally by the end of the year."
