ADSL and disconnection and spyware!

Post by salehhesham »

Hello this is my first time here :)
I have recently subscribed to ADSL connection 256 KB speed with a USB speed touch modem ..but it disconnects alot ..the maximum time for it is 2 hours :wth:
some technicians told me that may be your system do this ..spyware or ADware can do disconnect the broadband connection!!
my system is good Windows XP Pro .Pentium 4 -3 GHZ 1024 RAM

What cause ADSL to be disconnected ? sometimes when I download 3 files in the same time it disconnected ,I know the ADSL is an open connection never disconnected
Thanks for reading and helping

Sorry missed the xp part though as far as the norton goes make sure you have ICMP traffic allowed to get though or ping it could be part of the reason you are disconnecting also see if there is any usb/firmware updates for your modem and update them. If you modem has a network port I would suggest to swtich to ethernet if you can.

usually with larg files dropping it's the icmp ping traffic since you have to allow ping or Icmp though the machine to keep that fie going what ping does during the transfer it makses sure that you are still there wile downloading.
