Israel will hit Iran in the next few months: Israeli official
WASHINGTON: Israel will strike Iran’s nuclear facilities in the next “month or two or three,” an Israeli official has been quoted here as saying.
The unnamed official told Arnaud de Borchgrave, editor-in-chief of the United Press International (UPI), at the recently held national day reception at the Israeli Embassy that he believed Israel would strike Iran first in the next two or three months and that fighter bombers would not be involved as they had been to take out Iraq’s Osirak nuclear reactor before it went critical in 1981. For Osirak, Israel had used 14 F-15s and F-16s. This time, the Israeli said, it would be missiles. Asked if Israel would employ Cruise missiles, he replied, “with a gesture of his hand that went up and down again”, which meant that it would be the weapon of choice.
Asked if tunnel entrances to widely scattered Iranian nuclear facilities would be targeted, he responded that Israel had its own geo-stationary spy-in-the-sky satellite taking constant pictures of Iran with a resolution down to 70 centimetres. “We know far more than anyone realises,” he added.

Rly. Everyone knows Israel has nukes.Izzo wrote:O rly?
Besides, people underestimate the effect technological advancement has on developing nations. While it's true Iran doesn't need nuclear power for energy purposes, there are valid reasons for wanting the technology...
- As oil prices rise, lower domestic consumption would mean increased profits.
- Like any technology, the process of development>implementation>use opens the doorway to subsequent technologies (I know there must be some Civ fans here
- Iran exists in a reigon with several nuclear powers.
- As the U.S. becomes more aggressive, a nuclear deterrent becomes more desirable. It has worked for N. Korea so far.
Yes but in your game world the new technology isn't nuclear weapons.jz82 wrote:Rly. Everyone knows Israel has nukes.

In the real world however.....
Iran has enriched to 4.5%. More than is needed to run a reactor.
How many reactors do they have?
Why the plan to get 3,000+ centrifuges running in the next year if they already have enough to run their reactor?
Supply and demand.. They don't have the reactors to use all that uranium. With 3,000 more, they will be able to enrich to 90+% in a year (needed for a bomb)..
So their goal is mearly peaceful energy right? Rhetoric says one thing, math says nuclear bombs for sale (or free) to the highest bidder in one year.
That target WON'T be Isreal. Reason being they want the Holy land to themselves. No good if you can't go there for a few hundred years.
The target would be the US and if that's the plan, I say GO ISREAL!
With that in mind, I wouldn't be against Iran having nuclear power if it was guaranteed safe and there was no threat of them making a bomb. Chances are that won't ever happen so.. Unfortunately, I don't see a peaceful end to this. Iran is digging a deeeep hole and Isreal will fill it with one big ass boot.
I believe it when they say they know what is going on.

But not everyone knew that Libya had a huge stock pile of biologic and chemical agents. Are such monsterous caches of weapons hidden in other ME countries? From my conversations with soldiers who have returned from Afghanistan and Iraq, I am inclined to say yes.
Regarding the article, take measure of the source. Then again, Israeli ministers do have a proclivity in shooting off idiotic rheotic.

GH, please list the newspapers that are acceptable to this site...
You fool, I have already told you it will be Israel, not the U.S. that strikes Iran.
Russia has a treaty with Iran. An attack will trigger the prophecy of the King of the North marching/warring with Israel.
You throw that stir up trouble statement hoping a mod will sniff on it, and ban me i suppose. You aren't as clever as you percieve yourself.

And they are going to use missiles instead of bombers when Israel has one of the best airforce out there? Two, Israel would never do this without US agreement...
But then again this another conspiracy theory, what prophecy?
I say stir up trouble because there have been many anti-israel threads as of late...and this just adding another one especially when no truth behind the article.

Becuase if it was true it would be all over the http://www.jpost.com
I have no problem beleiving the story if it actually made sense I am all for someone taking out their ability before they get nukes.
why would the story not be on here http://www.upi.com/InternationalIntelligence/ when Arnaud de Borchgrave, editor-in-chief of the United Press International (UPI) was supposedly told this?

anyway, Ezekiel, 38th, 39th Chapters, the attempted invasion of Israel from Russia and a Arab/Islamic alliance.
The Gog-Magog invasion, GH...
Turkey, not gaining acceptance into the EU, looks for alliance with Iran & Russia, the link to east and west, and the area of key land which must be crossed. They are ancient--biblical Meshech, Tubal, Gomer, and Togarmah.
Here is a snip*, from a recent Turkish article--
http://www.thenewanatolian.com/opinion-5013.html
ARA BASLIK: Imperial ambitions in Mideast
Quite surprisingly as the AK Party loses faith in the EU process this corresponds to a stronger interest and involvement in the Middle East. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's decision to have direct talks with Hamas, his participation in the recent Arab League summit, his Syria policy and criticism of several Western policies towards the region are very recent examples of this.
These steps are confusing to many and raise questions on whether the AK Party is shifting towards an Islamist agenda in its foreign policy and also searching for some new alliances.
"Our party believes that Turkey should fill the power vacuum in the Middle East created by the fall of the Ottoman Empire. Turkey has to be become a major intervening actor in the Middle East and the surrounding area. We believe that Turkey cannot solve its bilateral and domestic problems without becoming an imperial power in the Middle East.
and so they shall as it was written long ago

Arnaud is not eidtor-in-chief at UPI; he is a free-lance journalist, entitled "editor-at-large" at UPI and other respectable news organizations.
I can't find any indication that he said such a thing, although the piece by Hasan is widely quoted. my guess is that it is all poppycock. The supposedly geostationalry satellite is nothing short of a joke.

Now why is it ok for You to post articles with no backing yet you just made a statement of "For one an unamed official..Yeah right..LOL told some guy at UPI Press...umm if he did how come they haven't printed it?"
then you post this article that has aboslutely no sources and its all assumptions
"Preliminary analysis by the IAEA showed traces of highly enriched uranium in the (pump) samples," a Western diplomat accredited to the IAEA told Reuters on condition of anonymity.
"Our (intelligence) assessment is that you cannot explain Iran's progress without secret (enrichment) sites being involved," said a diplomat from a country critical of Iran.
Others say Iran could have made such progress through simulation work.
Another diplomat from the same country said he suspected small amounts of processed uranium gas were being diverted from Isfahan, possibly to undisclosed enrichment sites in Iran. An EU diplomat said the IAEA had such suspicions too but no proof.
Sounds to me like there are either spies in the IAEA or someone is trying to sabaotage the UN talks. The IAEA is not supposed to "leak" info.

Thats YOUR problem that you consider factual debates regarding Israel as being conspiratorial. Its in your mind thats its a conspiracy. If I quoted UN derived resolutions and you consider them to be Anti-Israel or conspiratorial then I suggest you write to your government rep in Israel and you complain to them about their policies getting them into the news and the Un involving them.Ghosthunter wrote:If the policies were true...that the problem with all these damn conspiracy threads no one can tell truth from fiction anymore..

UN submits complaint over IAF violations of Lebanese airspace
Israel Air Force warplanes flew across villages in southern Lebanon on Thursday, prompting a complaint from the UN envoy to Lebanon who said such illegal flights were increasing.
Geir Pederson, the UN secretary general's representative in Lebanon, issued a statement saying Israel had violated Lebanese airspace six times on Thursday in flights that involved a total of nine aircraft.
He expressed the United Nations' "concern at the recent increase in violations by Israeli aircraft of Lebanese airspace" and called on Israel to stop all such flights.
In Jerusalem, an Israel Defense Forces spokeswoman refused to comment on Pederson's statement, saying only: "We do not discuss air force activity."
Lebanese security officials confirmed the Israeli overflights, saying they appeared to be reconnaissance missions.
http://www.haaretzdaily.com/hasen/spages/715039.html
The old "we do not discuss air force activity" excuse. Another UN warning that will be ignored by Israel and more then likely another conspiracy for GH. This article 100% has your characteristics of placing blame on other people. They invade another countries airspace and then blame them for killing people because they are shooting at the planes illegally crossing borders!
You keep trying to hold them above the rest , but they keep letting you down because they act no better then any of their neighbors. Don't try to blame their policies on me because they keep getting caught with their hands in the cookie jar.
