I found this speed test program that you may like

I have been an observer of this site for quite awhile . I guess I can give back a little.
I have a cable modem and like everyone else here I have run EVERY online speed test known to man only to come out either happy, angry or confused. As you know those tests depend on alot of different circumstances.
I found a program (you have probably already seen it but..) that seems to be pretty darn good for monitoring speeds / pings , etc. It has several features actually. Make sure you read the "read me" file because it explains in detail how to decipher the readings.
I got it about 2 weeks ago after reading a review .
Anyway, if you wish to try it its available here.

if you like it let me know.

Yes I already been useing it for about a year now. Trust it better then any online speed test. Thanks for posting it. Most people know of it already. But those who don't it will help out.

Read the "read me" file that came with it. It is long and has ALOT of info in it.

Click on the menu where the program is located. Then right click on it. then click on configure. From there you can set it up how ever you want to.

I like DU Meter. It is simple and has a "stop watch" feature.

What do you use it for? I tried it several times, at the times when some pages downloaded slow. It either showed lower speeds (below 200 kbps), or it showed usual speeds (500 kbps). Anyway, what am I supposed to do after I learn my exact speed?
