Increase web browsing speed w/ FF?

Now that I have my DSL connection fine tuned. Its web browsing speed time! I noticed that on my dad's computer, which is also using FF, and so is mine but mine is considerably slower than his!

What can I do to improve web page loading times and less "Waiting for..." and/or "Connecting to.."

FF version 1.5.01
XP Pro SP2
Currently using FireTune

make sure temp files are cleaned out and other things of this range to increase performance...not every computer/ connection will run the same so keep that in mind too.

what NIC are you using?
