I am a bit of a "Technological- Neanderthal"...ha, ha.
I require advice from anyone who uses file P2P sharing software and/or who knows how to use "Bit-Comet".....
I need to get the settings right for that program; and I just know I have it wrong!
Thanks sooo much .... I love all you "Techno-Wizards" !! (Wish I was..)
P.S. ( I have a fast Cable Modem from Rogers... and a Pentium 4 PC , with Windows 2000 Professional Operating system. I usually use "Limewire-Pro" and am happy with that, but could not find a certain file and so thought I would try another file sharing prog and found Bit-Comet (Seems like a cool program), and just need to get the settings right in order to use it efficiently..) <also the online help files for the Bit-Comet site were so complicated I did not follow... >
P.S.S. Anyone may feel free to E-mail me at : (willow8882003@yahoo.ca)
if they prefer....
Well the settings for BitComet isnt that hard, just use standard settings if ur not already have a port just for BC.
On "listen Port", u could just use "Choose random port".
Do not use the ports 6881-6889 becuse they r blacklisted from several torrent sites.
I just recently got into downloading Torrents and Mirc files through a friend. I initially downloaded "Bittorrent" client and had a terrible time.(slow, slow, slow!)
I later dl'd "Azureus" and it's great! At first it may seem like there is alot of settings and whatnot but the settings are actually really easy to configure. And theres an extensive FAQ guide on the website whice is really easy to understand, and explains alot but not so much as to confuse a person.
I totally recommend Azureus for newbies. (like me)
BTW You'll want to change your port settings! I just made up a number, tested it with the client (it has a port tester) and went from there.
