Looks like war: U.S. vs. Canada

Post by MadDoctor »

First you read this (from a while back)

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/2814239.stm

... and then you read this from today.

http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/americas/ ... index.html

Could be the start of the end.

Canada just acts wimpy....in reality they have 3x more nukes than we do all hidden in bunkers in northern canada under ice, and have 3,000,000 hardened troops cryogenically frozen under that ice as well. When the weather tornado horn signs 3 times in a row, every canadian citizen turns on their hairdryers, creating massive heat buildup in the country and unfreezing these troops who will anihilate anything in their path.

yeap :D

Hi MadDoctor

Lets be perfectly honest...Most Politicians are A$$hats and have no idea of reality, only what sounds good in the Media.

Canada's problem with Gun violence stems from a myriad of problems and Gun Control is Not one of them.

Our Courts are too lenient, especially with Juvenile offenders. They have far too many Rights and their punishment rarely fits the Crime.

Stricter sentencing (Mandatory) in all Gun related crimes need be set. No Plea Bargaining allowed. It should be wiped out altogether imho.

Probation should be eliminated. Do the Time as given by Judge or Jury, to the day. More if you act up while serving said time.

Bring in Profiteering Laws to go after Gangs where it hurts, their illegitimate profits.

Deportation (Immediate after sentencing & serving your time) if committed by someone here as a guest.

More Police on Foot in problems areas. Get them out of their Cars and back into the neighborhoods where they can be more proactive and therefore effective.

More School Programs as well as free City Youth Programs to give the young something to do with their time.

Start calling Parents into the mix as well. If junior is screwing up, demand voluntary talks with the parents and if that fails, Court orders for the parents to respond or social services start to take a firm hand in these matters. Also the prospect of deportation if it appears no controls are being taken.

Apprenticeships (Corporate) for those willing youth who wish to work, yet lack a senior education. Give them the opportunity to learn on the job and thereby make a decent living if they apply themselves.

The List could go on, however Politicians should not be allowed to throw out easy (ineffective) answers to more complex issues and get away with it. We have a Right to better leadership and must demand it from those we place in positions of authority.

Sad to see what is happening and everyone finger-pointing, but nothing being done to curb this needless violence...

Legalise Marijuana & then use the freed forces and money to Crack down on Major Drugs, Hard!

The idea of Registering Handguns when we already have one of the Strictest Handgun Laws now, is ridiculous. Criminals Don't Register their Handguns. Another regressive Law against the Law abiding citizen, coloured to look like our Government actually are doing something about the problem. Dumb!!!

Unemployed Youth+Drugs+Guns=Violence...There are no easy answers, however there are answers.

Just my opinion for what its worth.

Hi MadDoctor

That's a partial answer, but the solution lay much deeper imho. In an ever increasing MultiCultural Society here in Canada and many other places worldwide there are inequities that must be addressed so opportunity and success is in the cards for all who are willing to work towards it.

France is going through much the same thing now. Perhaps not as prone to gunfire as we are in N. America, but the base problems are very similar imho.

We need a more level playing field for all if we are to succeed and it takes many avenues to obtain and is far from an instant cure. We must learn from others and do what we can to make constructive changes & do less finger-pointing and proposing of Media crafted responses.

Bah the liberals want to ban hand guns thinking that will solve the problem. If the majority of the guns being used in crime are being smuggled up from the US (most likely in exchange for pot) then banning hand guns will do nothing.

If they want them they'll find a way to get them, the police boarder guards just need to be more alert, More funding wouldn't hurt either.

Recently an LAPD Officer came to Vancouver to talk about our "gun problem" he said we don't have one compared to LA. I'm tired of all the BS about shootings in the news. They are making it out to be some new epidemic that has befallin our country..yeah right
