ah, GH got my feathers ruffled. Time for people to quit whining, and pull their pants up a lil tighter. These guys don't know what real problems are..

GH--worried about walking 40 blocks--When there are people out there, that wish they had the ability to walk 40 blocks.

GXR750-- tough on the internet, not showing me crap in real life. Someone please ban me if i whine about my wife sticking it to me. I'm guessing the intruder is one of her boyfriends...

If the cops can't/won't do anything, I'd drive to your friends house, pick up the 9mm, and fire at will. This is too scary hommie. IMO, you have every right to shoot these A-holes.

Maybe if you told the cops that your going to shoot them they might get off their ass' and do something.

By the way, does it seem to happen about the same time every evening? If so, have the cops drive by your home around that time and see if they can catch them in the act.

He is on parole, I suspect he would go to the pokey if he had a gun, especially if it has no numbers and is not registered

Hide outside in a bush with a 12 guage and a cell phone. When they get there, (empty house of course) call cops. Find out how long till cops arrive. IF they get in, wait.. If they are about to leave, **** shotgun and force them to the ground. Don't shoot em unless they have weapons. Contain until the cops show up.

Theey are busted. Noone dies and you're safe.

Then do what everyone else said about home security. Lights, cameras, locks, etc..

PS, video camera would be a plus.. Tripod setup to capture the whole break in.

Do you at least have something setup to let you know if someone has broken in while you're away? Liek an alarm or jsut anythign that when you walk up to your door you can tell someone is in there? That way you dont walk in at a bad moment.

How can anyone post a thread like this and NOT expect some of the responders to have a negative view of the situation, of any action or inaction, or question the validity of the "facts" at hand or dispense no-nonsense advice or alternative possible explanations? People say don't get personal, but the original poster opened himself up for responses from ALL sides and viewpoints, regardless if those positions are "mean", "rude", or take the form of "attacks" on him personally. Surely if you're smart enough to hammer things out on a keyboard, you can get to the bottom of things in real life.

I now file the original post in with "My eyes are bleeding, should I go to the doctor?", "My car is making a funny noise, what is wrong?" and, "My dog's legs just fell off, what do I do?!?" types of threads that always seem to creep in to this forum.

I'm assuming that he has the 9mm registered, since he let his buddy borrow it. I know that it's risky to fire on someone but to my understanding, if someone is on your property and is trying to break in, you have the right to protect yourself and your family. I think it's completely justified, but I'm sure the law differ's from state to state, even city to city.

Also, he doesn't have to fire. All I know if I was breaking into somebody's house and the owner pulled a gun on me, I'd stop and go break into someone else's home.

gun not registered ... no #'s ... that is why i let him borrow it, that way if something happens it cannot be traced to me ...
