please.

Read through Sidewinder's thread and have seen all of YOSC and YOS's comments. The whole "replacement only for 8 or more dead pixels" thing freaks me out though. Regardless of how many ViewSonics you've dealt with with no problem, with my luck I'd have 1 dead center and 6 more scattered around.

If I get this from Costco though, I can bring it back and swap it out for another one no problem and they're only 10 minutes from my house.

So what do you think of this one?

as long as you are not using that for gaming you should be good to go.

20ms response time is kinda slow nowadays. I would personally look for a faster response time on a LCD moniter.

They're not bad....I forget who makes most of Dells monitors...I think it's Philips or Samsung, but I've seen quite a few of them and they're nice. I've not run across any issues with them, as far as failure rates or blowing power supplies or anything like that. A few users here have noted dead pixels with them, but if they're local to you and have a good return policy...then that should work out well for ya.

Costco doesn't deal with Viewies eh? Bummer.

Regarding the response times...do you play online first person shooters or any other fast action games? If not...then 20ms should be fine for you. My Viewsonic 19'' is getting pretty old...it's one of the first 25ms monitors, and I game with it. It's an honest 25ms, unlike many of the "supposed 25ms" models out there..and it doesn't ghost bad.

I think you'll be fine.

Nope, no gaming any more :(

Still a good bit more than I'd like to spend though.

YOSC, heard anything bad about them besides your TigerDirect comment? Seems like a good price to me, 8ms response...

Samsung makes Dell monitors, The Septre looks liek a samsung made thing too. If you can return locally then I'd take a gamble, unless the warranty is ****.

I don't believe so. Only 1 year warranty on most of their stuff. Google them, you'll find some disgruntled users who tried to seek support, never got a live body or a remedy, etc. I've seen their stuff...flimsy up close, I felt like if I sneezed near it something would break.
