nvidea vs ati?

What card would be better for gaming 9600XT with 128 mb ram or fx5200 with 256 ram. 9600 has almost twice the proc speed but half the ram?

the fx5200... more ram more stable.. better overclocking ability but thats a old card?? why not just find a cheap 6600?

Don't listen to this Noob. 9600 hands down. The FX series blows goats.
Respect it.

Nub you said to get the FX5200. The FX series Blows.

Yeah a 6600GT or a 6800NU would smoke both of those cards.

I'd go with what Scott said..stay away from the FX's. I had one (it was free, only reason) but I would of been better off with my older card at the time which was the Radeon 8500.

I never had a issue with my FX cards... therefore I picked that one.. but I would go with a 6600 for just a slight step up in costs...but Nvidia all the way..they have surpassed the competition in every way! New 7800's for example!

I have the FX5200 now but was looking at the All in wonder 9600Xt because of the tuner and capture ability, but the ram concerned me a bit. The specs show the 9600 at almost twice the proc speed as the 5200. What I'm hoping for is better game play for BF2 with higher settings.

I've always been a serious ATI fan since the voodoo card days...but a friend of mine talked me into a Geforce 6800gt....awesome card, a lil spendy but well worth the money. The ATI 9200 through 9800 cards are also well worth the money and plenty of power for most of ur gaming pleasure. Good luck and happy gaming!!!! :thumb:

The best bang for the buck right now is the 6600GT. Its crazy cheap nowadays but still holds its own in the new games (via 8 pipelines and 128bit memory). The FX series was terrible, slow as HELL. the 9600's werent any good either though, both of those are basically too slow for any gaming nowadays.

the best bang for the buck is actually the 6800 GS right now

and  at anyone who recommends any of the FX series, stay AWAY from that line
