Hi all,

We are currently working on the next Battlefield 2 update. We believe this update has some significant improvements that everyone will appreciate. We’ve seen the discussions on the forum and will do our best to address as many issues as possible, as soon as possible.

Here is a quick run down of just some of the issues we have been working on.

- Helicopter now carry 8 missiles rather than 14
- TV-Guided missile now have a shorter range
- Hit points on all air vehicles has been reduced
- AA missile lock has been improved
- Support kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy
- Sniper kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy
- Anti-Tank kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy
- "Dolphin Diving" is no longer possible
- Players can no longer jump and shoot at the same time
- "Prone Spamming" is now fixed
- "Sprint exploit" is now fixed
- The Sa80 weapon has been improved
- The G3A3 weapon has been improved
- Reload while sprinting has been enabled
- Chinese and MEC APCs can now shoot through penetrable materials
- Damage decreased for the M134
- Medic defibrillator paddles have been adjusted. They now reload while not in use.

Dolphin Diving = Going prone and diving repeatively

Prone Spamming = Going prone to standing and repeating.

Kind of a cheap way to avoid taking damage/hits when in close combat with someone. The physics engine used to, well, you'd pretty much simply not take any hits...pretty unrealistic.

only things I disagree with the changes are the tv guided range and the missle shake down.. Keep it as real as what the real choppers have and can do.

The dolphin diving isnt so much as a problem since everyone can do it so why change it? You see it in the movies all the time someone dives down and shots someone so big deal. And lets see hell jumping and can't shoot?? Come on!!! I can jump and shoot in real life!!! Too many noobs complaining about getting owned is what it is!

LMFAO Yeah you can jump and shoot in real life, but you wouldn't be able to hit the broad side of a barn.

They definately need to tweak ALL the infantry weapons IMO. Just because the DAO has 12 rounds doesn't mean it should take 3 to kill a guy at close range. You get caught close up with a shotty at close range you should drop. I don't see the DAO taking out snipers at 100 yards. WTF?

Also, thank god they're going to adjust the support weapons. Man did they f*** those up last patch. My PKM has sat on the shelf since 1.12

Desert Conflict baby! FH2 has the best renders IMO though. Just don't like the ww2 feel much.

You tried DC CTF yet?

I think everything sounds good except the Guided Missle thing. The diving and shooting and jumping and shooting thing really ruins the game. yeah yeah NOOB all you want but that is just unrealistic and stupid. Maybe not make it so you can't shoot, just make it so you can't shoot acurately.....

Haven't played since 1.12....now I'd be really pissed if I was to play. I love the support weapons, LOL.

There was some additional patch details at http://battlefield2.nl

They did mention the Red Tag Bug. :D

Yeah, that's another mod im waiting for! That one, FH2 and POE.

Correct me if im wrong, but I think it's 1.12
We would love to be running the CTF mod but unfortuneately there only releasing it to trusted server providers...Means we will be waiting a long time for server files. :mad:

Hmm, that's too bad, I had a blast playing the CTF mod.

I especially like playing as an engineer and mining a road, then hiding in the grass nearby with my boomstick ready, as soon as the driver slows down to try to get past the mines I get up and BOOM HEADSHOT! :D
