do you also try:

or
> crazy man tweaks (ram-disk)?
BTW do you explain: OS, connection type (cable, ADSL etc), NIC & router ?

PS. my actual CAPS 2Mbps ADSL (maximal in my ISP 6Mbps)

Whats in the task bar doesnt matter, nor does your "CPU" or amount of memory or its cas latency, etc.

### times faster than 56k doesnt mean anything. 56k can vary, like anything else. Show the whole story.
