Disable starting account screen

Post by Gort9k »

I am runnig WIN XP PRO. And until now when I started up my pc I was shown the Windows desktop.
Well, after installing Encarta 2006 I found two a couple of things. For once at starting time my pc stopped and displayed my user screen. As I am not using a password all I had to do was to press enter to access the desktop.

How can I supress this screen and go back to my (couple of hours old) previous setup?

Another thing that I noted was that threre was another user account: "asp.net machine a...". After looking for it in the Internet it seems that account is a necesary one for Encarta to work, so I'm leaving it for now.

Thanks

ASP.net is part of the .Net software for windows

To get rid of the welcome screen account selection goto Control Panel > User Accounts > and uncheck "Use the Welcome Screen"

Maybe, but I had to go looking around the control panel to figure it out.
