I just bought a toshiba laptop and it doesn't pick the signal of my router, do I have to configurate it first? the wireless conection is on so I don't know what to do

The Toshiba has a physical switch for Wireless; make sure that it is ON.
If you do not see a network Connection Icon, you need to check the Network Configuration.
