Long print delay?

Long print delay?
Hi, I have an epson cx6600. Ever sense i got the printer it has an incredibly long print delay. It takes about 2-3 minute sometimes for it to print what I tell it. It prints fast, it just takes the printer a long time to recognize that I told it to print. Is there anything I can do? I have the newest drivers. Its driving me crazy please help me out.
