Packet loss problem

Post by mr nemoperson »

I just recently got a cable modem and sighned up with optimum online for my ISP.
The problem is that im able to surf the web but after like two or three webpages or just if enogh time passes it just stops loading.
I called customer support and of course they were no help. At first the guy didnt believe me but after he pinged me for like a min he said I had bad packet loss. He actually thoght i had turned off my computer.
Well they there sending a guy to take a look at my line on the 17th. Thats too long a wait ;-)
As you can imagine this makes online gaming virtually impossable.
Dous anyone have a suggestion as to what the problem is or what to do?
my modem is a Terayon.

If ur getting packet loss to ur gateway, then all u can do is complain as the problem is on their end. I'm usually in the same boat as u on the weekends. On Sat. and Sun. I can get up to 70% packet loss to my gateway and as a result I can' go anywhere.
