AOL Hax0r?
Zonealarm shows me this alot:
The firewall has blocked Internet access to your computer (TCP Port 1073) from 205.188.4.254 (AOL).
Occurred: 3 times between 10/8/00 14:09:54 and 10/8/00 14:11:12
Whats this AOL'er tryin to do?

AOL sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you have cable, there is no reason in the world why you need AOL. AOL is for newbie's and people who don't know how to use the internet. If you have cable, you must know how to use the internet if your paying $40 a month. This is just my opinion but I feel strongly about it.

Looks like everyone is in such a hurry to get their post count up, that they havn't taken time to read your post, HalfLifer!
I've been looking at a few sites but can't find exactly what that particular 1073 port might be used for, unless its for AOL. Could be someone is scanning from aol and looking for aol ports. Looks like your firewall caught it.
I'd be willing to bet that your address looked dead to the person probing your port.
Maybe Tony will read this. I'd be willing to bet he could give you a better answer.

do you or did you ever use aol instant messanger? if so that could be it. if you ever had any aol program installed make sure that nothing is still running in your pc. if you have win98 go to start up menu in msconfig and uncheck any aol programs. if this ip keeps attempting to access your pc email aol and ask them who or what is at that ip address. support@aol.com or abuse@aol.com

Yea well me and my family like aol, so when we got cable we decided to keep it, and its not for newbies, I like it alot, AIM is annoying, talkin on Aol is way better and I like the mail, Many people hate aol because they get it and end up getting screwed over cuz there newbies! Aol is only $7 a month now cuz I dont need to use there access Numbers

Funny you should mention this I have one computer that has AOL on it, on the network just about everyone has the messanger but this one computer that signs on bounces all over the place until it gets out when the network is busy.
I can't wait till the end of this week when AOL won't be allowed on the network anymore the stupid AOL IP Stack steals a bunch of speed when its on.
Getting to your problem I bet you have someone on your node that still uses it and when they sign on it bounces around looking for its connection.
This is a common problem with there software
there is something that bothers me in this that AOL uses ports 5190 & 11523 to 8080.
I won't say what I think of AOL just because it would change this whole subject and I don't think theres enough space here at the speedguide for it.
Good luck
