canadian - I dunno, I uninstalled some programs and deleted some folders and that's it.

tech support - get out your cd's, we're reinstalling. Hope you have nothing on there to backup b/c you uninstalled your cd burning software and screwed it up bad enough it will not reinstall.

But you are right, the majority of techs on the phone know nothing about comps, but I guess that goes for installers also
