Fatal1ty AA8XE Post Code 53

one of my friends just recieved his Fatal1ty AA8XE mobo and is having trouble. Eerytime he boots up he gets "Post Code 53. We checked in the manual and it says reset the code according to jumper H/W can anyone help?

pen4 3.4ghz
512x2 ddr2
bfg geforce 6800 ultra pci-e
ide maxtor 250gb

Near the Southbridge heat sink is a jumper. It should be labeled CCMOS. Unplug the computer, ground yourself on the computer's frame, then take the jumper off of the 1-2 pins and put it on the 2-3 pins for 30 seconds. Then put it back on the 1-2 pins, plug the computer back in and restart.

whats plugged into the board, boot with bare essentials.

all i have plugged in is the cpu, ram, video card

it only has two USB jumpers and the CCMOS jumper

Can you enter the BIOS? That code relates to setting a password or resetting a password in the BIOS as I recall.

i cant get into the bios. the computer wont even boot up, it just hangs as soon as post code 53 comes on

I didn't notice any other jumpers relating to this. Perhaps now would be the time to hit the forums for that board at the company's web site (if there are any) or contact their technical support team.
