Outlook XP help please.

If I have 2 different pop3 accounts, how can I direct each one to a different pst file? Basically I want one mail to go to this pst, and the other mail to go to a different pst. Any ideas??

Thanks in advance.

You can setup profiles in Outlook...set it up as if you had a couple of different users. Each profile will let you specify a PST...and according POP3 information.

Do you have to switch between profiles? Both emails will be for the same user and I just want to specify either a pst for each email to go to, or a folder for each to go to.

edit: I don't want to have them having to swap profiles all the time, is why. :)

Oh...I see what you're trying to do. I was picturing 2x different users.

Hmmm...gotta bow out of this one, I really haven't dabbled with inbox rules.

You should be able to split the mail up into folders with rules. New rule, start from a blank rule, check messages when they arrive, then use "though the specified account. You click on specified and it will list the accounts that are set up and let you pick one. Keep going and you can specify a folder for that rule. Then create another rule for the other account. :)
I believe this all saves in one PST file. I believe you would have to switch profiles to separate things into two pst files.

I believe you want to set up another data file. It's under the options somewhere, this will allow you to sort the mail to a different .PST file, I think.

Tools/Options/Mail Setup/Data Files

Or

File/Datafile Management

I think you then have to set up filters/rules to sort the mail to the appropriate folder in your Outlook folder list. This doesn't allow it to come into one inbox as far as I can see, but it doesn't require to different logons either.
