Love, Injury, and Death.

Post by Silver »

A waitress, fixing to get off her shift is approached by another waitress. "Hey, you're single, and there's this guy in my section eating alone and said he wouldn't mind having some company for dinner". The waitress who's 13 year old son was with the grandparents decided 'hey why not'. Skip and Janette ate dinner that Wednesday night, and remained after dinner till the place closed. After that they hung out a bit more, I believe driving around, talking for most of the night. The next day, after work, Skip came over to Janette's house and hung out again, he got to meet her 13 year old son, and they went out, and again stayed up all night talking. Repeat on Friday, repeat on Saturday. On Sunday, as they were at dinner Skip says "You know, I don't think I'll ever get married again." Janette replied with "Yeah, me either" to which Skip says "So, you want to get married?" "Sure". That Monday, they went to the Justice of the peace with Janette's sister and son. They were married on April 15th. About a month later, Janette, Skip, and son move to Tulsa and start a new life. This past April 15th was their 20th anniversary. 5 days, 20 years later, still in love. This is the story of my mom and step dad.

A man is working outside for the day, a few ladys are asking him for help with gas money, which he provides a few bucks. Thinking they have gone away he has to run inside and get something before going out to run errands, he leaves his keys in the truck. Upon coming back outside he finds the girls are back and inside his truck, and currently in the process of stealing it. As they are driving off he chases them down, and starts getting dragged by the truck, trying to get them to stop or stop them. As his grip fails he falls and is subsequently run over by his own vehicle. It broke his ribs, it broke his cheekbone, it punctured one of his lungs. This is the story of a good friend of mine from Texas. The Colonel.

Karl underwent surgery a few days ago, apparently it was pretty intense but he has been getting better. Lots of swelling, but some improvement. Get better Karl, many have you in their thoughts and prayers.

A girl walks down the hall, going to or coming from lunch. Probably talking to friends, joking around. At 12:15 the floor rushes up to meet her, things go black. At 1:00 she is pronounced dead. She was 14. This is the story of some good friends of mine's daughter, Lulu.

Ashley, an avid surfer, and just all around wonderful human being. Sometimes you get called back too soon. A parents worse nightmare is outliving their children. Some good friends of mine are living that nightmare as I type this. Rest In Peace Ashley, you will be remembered fondly by all who had the luck to have met you.

Thanks Silver....those were all very heart rendering stories!

Congrats to your parents!

Speedy recovery to your friend!

Heaven must have needed an especially beautiful Angel to help guard her gates...and thus Ashley was called home for duty. It's so hard to see a child so young leave us. :(
