Just caught local news here .. there's been a shooting at a high school just north of the cities hre where 8 people have apparently been shot to death in school...12 others have been wounded.
Are our kids really freakin safe anymore ???..I mean I hate to say when I was younger ...but I never had to worry about any of this. The worst was a beat down after school but that never even happened.

Oh my god. This is depressing, and I don't know what to say.
Where I grew up, there was a lot of gang violence, and it's still no different where I live now. Kid's have to grow up with a lot of different **** now adays (I am included). With me being 19 years old, I can tell you the things I had to deal with high school.
Teen pregnancies, my gf almost getting pregnant, extreme violence (I got jumped by 8 people and still have a 7" scar across my left cheek), drugs (Pot, Coke, Meth, Shrooms, and Acid were all very popular when I was in school), and on top of all that, parents expect kids to work, get good grades in school, and do extracurricular activities.
It's not like Leave it to Beaver anymore.
