FRUSTRATED

Post by bobby123456789 »

its very frustrating when i have cable service and it doesnt work properly.

i use Time Warner Cable modem service Road runner
I have a Motorola Surboard SB4100 Cable modem

and i am runnign windows 2000 professional edition, pentium 3 450 htz, 128 pc100 sdram, 6gig harddrive, i upgraded from windows 98 first edition, i have the windows 2000 service pack 1 update, and the ethernet card that i am using is a NE 2000 10 base t ethernet card.

My downloads start at 25 30 kilobytes a second and within a minute they kick down to 0.8 kilobytes per second

You know i ran a new cable wire, got a new modem, updated my computer. In fact im using windows 2000 professional edition, THE MOST EASIEST OS TO TECH!!!!!!!!!!!

im using an ethernet card. I have top grade wires connecting to and from my computer to the modem to the outside connection, no splitters, no cufflinks. I renewed my ip address. And i think im fresh out of options i dont know what else to do.

i call time warner at least 40 45 times, and they guide me through some worthless standard tests and set me on my way. About 10 other times they have a pc tech call me back and guide me through some other bullcrap. But i still always have the same problem. So you want to know exactly what my problem is again? here it is

When i first get on road runner it works fine for about 10 minutes. If i try and play a game online i always get dropped and road runner loses connection with the server. And so im screwed. SOmetimes ill be playing a game and right in the middle of a game ill get dropped and disconnected. My download speeds start out very fast and then they kick down to about 0.8 kilobytes per second. And so i cut the power to the cable modem. and then turn it back on and it will work fine for 10 minutes, then in 10 minutes its the same thing all over again, i have to cut the power to the modem and plug it back in and it will be fine for 10 minutes. WHAT DO I DO?????????????????????
Yes thats my reflection....

Let them laugh now,
