Slow like Molasses computer

It is am IBM personal computer 300PL I am trying to reload win 98 because the os took about 15 min to load even after running the usual (Mnosteel would be proud) adaware se then avast and nothing, minimal non threatening spyware. I ts is taking forever to verify disk integrity so I can partician the 20 Gig HD. It has 128 Mg of ram older intel processor(not sure which but probably a P2) I will try to partition the drive then load win 98. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like a dying hard drive if it's taking that long to verify disk integrity. Download The Ultimate BootCD and run diagnostics on the drive.

if you're going to be keeping that comp for a while..

I'd look into upgrading the RAM also..
