Surprisingly I liked it.

I really did not think I would like the new BSG because I'm a fan of the original, however, I think they are doing a good job with it and am growing to like it. I thought "33" and "Water" were very good, I'm curious to see where they are going with the Cylon Occupied Caprica with Helo there stuff and how that ties in to it all.

Some people have argued it was a little boring, and well, maybe it was slightly, maybe melodramatic. It does not have the same feel as the original, it isn't as light hearted and doesn't have much humor, it is all about drama. One thing you picked up real quick on in the original was that you liked for and cared for Starbuck and Apollo, and as of yet we haven't formed that kind of relationship with this new Starbuck and Apollo in the new BSG. It just isn't there.

But this was just the premier so I'll give it time, I'll watch it this season and see how it goes, it is definitely part of my Friday lineup.

Enterprise, SG1, Atlantis, BSG

There are a lot of threads about the new BSG going on here if you want to read a lot of opinions on it: http://www.trekbbs.com/threads/postlist ... oard=UBB11

I thought it was awesome...the space battles, especially. They were underplayed and not over the top with FX; they came off as what a non-Sci-fi future would be like IMHO

Is it me or in the previews for the season did they not feature the original Apollo actor as the leader of the people yelling for an election or something?

Anyways, I did watch both episodes. I "kinda" liked it, I thought there were some good moments in it, and the whole conflicted cylon thing is interesting. However, I also find fault with it, I cannot imagine a human ever helping a cylon the way the chief is helping that girl. It just seems counter-intuitive the way it's being played.

OTOH, that could be part of the plot development of cylons going against their programming and thus becoming "closer" to be human. But seriously, it seems a very long stretch.

It also seems clear that Hero is being manipulated to help find whatever other human remnants exist on Caprica.

All in all, an interesting beginning. We'll see how it plays out and I'll probably follow it for a few weeks to see if my interest keeps up or not.

Well, the Cheif doesn't know she is a Cylon

and she is one of the ones programmed to think she is human, so she doesn't even know

Nope, it's the right one...I've got most of those also...they showed them on SkyOne in the UK starting several months ago...
