umm i have a problem when the program pops up and i press y it says files that are required for windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions. to maintain system stability, windows must restore the original versions of thes files.

insert your windows xp home edition service pack 2 cd now.

First if you haven't already go do that repair and see if it works if not try what i siad below

try reinstalling sp2 agin do a search for the network isntall there for you do't have go though windows up date and try that patch again odd i never heard of that asking to be repired after that patch gets applied, i might ask around the board see if anyone ran into that i had no issues when i used it.

Also, if you installed Service Pack 2, and you didn't manually disable the firewall, you are running it. The firewall is enabled by default on Service Pack 2.

http://www.dqusa.com/collateral/708EUR%20Ethernet%20USB%20Combo%20ADSL.pdf you need the adobe plugin to view it i think think this your modem you need to find out what ports hl2 needs to run and map them in them in the modem. if you haven't done this alrady also see if there is any firmware upgrades for the modem it might help.

Telnet Port:
(23, 61000-62000)
FTP Port:
(21, 61000-62000) so i dunno
