What about this lcd..

Post by Immortal »

I'm looking for something cheap and choosing lcd because we need the space. The vid card does have the digital port but the one I'm looking at is only analog.

It's just for normal word processing, the occasional movie and maybe some gaming such as sims 2 and so on.

So what do you think? it's for around 300 CAD... Do you have any suggestions? Is it worth it for 17" or digital? Your input is much valued!

Thanks! :)

Don't get the Sony.

Samsung seems to be fine...BenQ as a brand usually blows, although they produce panels for Dell, too, so...

If you plan on keeping the LCD for a while try to find a good one that has DVI.

Chances are you wont have a D-Sub connector on your next graphics card.

I'd get a Viewsonic...they've just proven themselves to me over the years. Wether you wanna spend the cabbage for a 19 incher...up to you, but take a look at their 17" models.

Don't dismiss BenQ as a brand either....they're quite good.

My parents have a Samsung 17" LCD. As a matter of fact I'm using it right now. It's proven itself to be a great LCD. Good picture, bright. And, I think we've had it for about a year and a few months now, and it's gotten one dead pixel, very small, red, unoticable. So, I'd recommend them.

I agree with Burke. Samsung makes a solid monitor. BenQ is iffy and Sony can be a little on the unstable side when it comes to PC equipment. (Their digital camera stuff is awesome.)

Good luck!
