What do u need the systemworks package for? get a free virus scanner and adaware, spybot, and spyblaster, use windows defrag and recycler and return norton 2005 and buy somethign for yourself for fun.

I have Norton SW 2005 running on my rig with XP Pro SP2 with no problems at all. Did you log on to XP as adminstrator to do the install? Was it a fresh install or an upgrade? Have you turned any services off in XP?

Norton programs entrench themselves into your OS. There is a lot left over after using the un-install option. There is a utility on Norton's site that is said to remove all the junk left over. My guess is your problem is because something got left behind after you removed the 2004 version.
