picked up another lappy

Post by zooner »

purchased a dell 8100 with the following options:

Intel® Pentium® M Processor 715(1.50A GHz/400MHz FSB)
512megs (I'll be replacing it with a gig)
128MB DDR ATI's MOBILITY® RADEON™ 9600 PROTURBO
15.4 WSXGA+
40gig HD (i'll be replacing it with a 60gig 7200)
24X CD-RW/DVD

for $860, plus I get a $50MIR from dell.

they have a $750 off $1500 laptop purchase
coupon code - ZD5$P0NS954P16

might sell my 9100 and keep the 8600 because of the extended battery life and flatterness of it.

Easiest thing to do is put your mouse on the submit button, close your eyes and then click really fast. Relatively painless and over before you know it.

Every normal man must be tempted at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.
I often wonder if the voices in my head ever get frustrated because I'm just too damn lazy to climb that clock tower.

Dell pulled several models once they hit production quotas. The 9100 was the first model to go, but from what I understand (Dell rep) the 9100 is history. New models will be announced early next month. 9110 and XPSG2. We picked up 2 XPS models with the $750 off.

yeppers!

the 8600 specs are VERY close to the 9100. The only area I'm really going to suffer is multi-tasking because I'll lose the hyperthreading. It means I can no longer rip a dvd and play games at the same time (probably).

Plus, the 8600 will be running a 128MB DDR ATI's MOBILITY® RADEON™ 9600 PROTURBO. The radeon9700 128meg is only running 4 pipelines, so I dont think I'll really suffer from the difference.

before I start listing the 9100, anyone interested?
