Star Wars Battlefront

Post by Jim »

Is there an interest in this title among SG'ers? I'm probably going to be checking this one out, but if it's just Evan and myself who are interested in it, I'll probably just get the XBOX version...

Of course. If it rocks hard enough, there may be a chance that the SG server will go towards this game. Let's see how buggy this first release is first...
POE is really a great game and it will take a monster game to unseat it from the server.

Yup i saw in a magazine it was only 16 players max....Im hoping thats just for the xbox tho. I also heard some details about how other battles may effect other battles! Pretty wild idea there if you ask me! They should make it where you conquest the whole galaxie...if you win a battle once then you have to defend it later if hte other side decides to take it back or something...maybe kinda add some story or something...

From LucasArts.com:

"Multiplayer for up to 16 players (plus AI units) online."

As I said in the other thread, I believe it's 32 players for PC, and 16 for consoles.

NEGATIVE!!!!!

PC will support 64 players online with dedicated servers.
For the PC, we plan to support at least 32 human players over the Internet. For LAN games, we plan to support 32 players for the PS2 and Xbox versions, and 64 for the PC version.

That is all.

EDIT: I'm referring to human (not bot) internet play, not via a LAN.

What engine is this based off of?

The old '42 engine or BFV?

Wasn't BFV supposed to have the previous rounds battles affect the new one too? So far I haven't seen this.

That being said I might check this out.
Respect it.

This is a new game and new engine by Lucasarts and Pandemic. No BF or BFV for this puppy. ;)

Probably uses a similar graphics engine to what they used with that one X-Box game. Full Spectrum Warrior. Pandemic is pretty good though. I'll more than likely pick this game up. Finding time to play it is a different matter. :rotfl:

I dunno about that. This game offers both first & third person perspectives. Lucasarts has been testing the game loading it with 1,000 bots....should play fine on our server. :thumb:

Loved the concept, but hated the performance of the game

The Tribes:Vengeance Beta is pretty killer though.

Man in FPS games I just can't get into that 3rd person view. I think it sucks. Makes it hard to play for me.

1,000 bots would be insane. The maps would have to be huge for that to work. Chrimeny. You'd need like 2 gigs of ram just to play. Good thing I've got 2 then isn't it? :D
Respect it.
