Desperately seeking help!!!
I realize there is prob a better forum to post under, but I know all that browse here play BFV. I have a serious prob with BFV right now. I have a p4 2.26, 1gigpc2700, 6800nu and I USED to run BFV just fine. With the 1.1 patch I get really strange lag. Not FPS lag, i get like 70fps with all settings on high, it is a "jerky" or "hitching" lag. Meaning, I can be walking straight and all of a sudden, I am pointing left?!?!? I will be flying, no lag whatsoever and all of a sudden I am like 10ft off the deck. The hard thing in playing now is that I never now when it is going to suddenly "jerk" into the wrong direction. Also, when I drive a vehicle with no other keys pressed except for the W, it hitches to an almost stop. I can even see the dirt come from the wheels like when it stops. PLEASE HELP. I have flashed my mobo w/updated BIOS, re-installed the game and patch, defragged, removed all spyware, updated V/C drivers, and used all the videocon and defaultcon file tweaks, used all diff ingame video settings. Nothing has gotten rid of it! Everyone else just talks about the slideshow-like lag. I don't get that. I also get Connection Problems Detected a lot now, but everyone else on comms with me gets that too. Sorry for the novel, I just wanted to cover all. I would appreciate any help. Is it just me?!?! *edit- I always close all unessecary programs too.

there is a bug in Xfire right now causing 100% CPU usage. There will not be a fix for it until the next release on 9/2/2004.
I saw you logged on Xfire. Goto your task manager and check to see if you are running at 100% CPU usage...if you are...shutdown Xfire and REBOOT. Do NOT allow Xfire to autologin. the problem is with CTHelper and a certain dll in the Xfire program.

With Xfire running I only have 2% cpu usage. I have an Intel 875PBZ mobo. I have the latest drivers available on nvidia's site, and I manually update my PB with pbweb just in case. I even go into the console in-game and type " pb_sleep 500" . This is something that I got off the pb site that helps others, but doesn't rid me of the hitching.*edit-- oh yeah, it occurs w/ and w/o Vent running. Haven't tried single player yet. I will report back w/ those results.

Yeah...tell us how single player is. Make sure you have a reasonable number of bots on. Also, when in multiplayer...goto an EA server and play on one of the high end ones. Make sure ping is low as well. Let me know how running on an EA server is.

Have you tried playing on an EA server yet? Make sure it has a low ping and has a high end CPU and ram. They tell you the specs right there on the menu. Play on an EA server. Let me know what happens.

EA server, ping 15= same hitching lag. I played on a server last night that my friend set up for the mod. It was in Dallas and i was gettin like 60-70fps w/ everything maxed and STILL got the strange lag. Fps never dips when it happens. Since my last post, I did a system restore from before the patch, re-installed the game, did all the tweaks, went to an EA server and it happened again. Arghhh.
