Problems

Post by XPediTioN »

Since I tweaked my internet connection I have not been able to see all pictures in web pages. They won't display for some reason. I have to click the refresh button twice and sometimes more than that. Can someone help me set up some tweaks that will give me my maximum speed for my 384/128 DSL line??? Thanks

Note: My connection is slooowwwww!!!!

OK what tweaks? Please post a TCP/IP Analyzer test along with your ISPs caps.

Browser/OS = Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; sbcydsl 3.12; YComp 5.0.0.0)
Notes: Read the Analyzer FAQ if the above is not your IP address.

TCP options string = 020405a001010402
MTU = 1480
MTU is optimized for Windows XP PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.
MSS = 1440
MSS is optimized for Windows XP PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for maximum throughput.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 64800
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64800

RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
506880 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
253440 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
126720 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63360 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):

Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2592 kbps (324 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1036.8 kbps (129.6 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 120 hops

TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000

I applied the Windows XP tweak and I think also the fast web page loading and now not all the pictures are displaying. Help !!!

My most recent results for the analyzer are:

TCP options string = 020405a001010402
MTU = 1480
MTU is optimized for Windows XP PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.
MSS = 1440
MSS is optimized for Windows XP PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for maximum throughput.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 11520
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 11520

RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
506880 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
253440 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
126720 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63360 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):

Your RcvWindow limits you to: 460.8 kbps (57.6 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 184.32 kbps (23.04 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
Consider increasing your RWIN value to optimize TCP/IP for broadband.
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 56 hops

TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 11100000

Precedence (priority) = 000 (routine)
Delay = 0 (normal delay)
Throughput = 0 (normal throughput)
Reliability = 1 (high reliability)
Cost = 1 (low cost)

I am supposed to be getting the SBC Basic package which will be 384/128. I still can't see all pictures in web page. Is this because of my firewall or antivirus? I am using McAfee

XPediTioN you have about 3-5 threads going all about the same thing and you never finish any of them. The last thread you speeds and everything were fine, why did you change anything?

Help me then. I think this only happens in IE because I installed Firefox and it works great. I will be checking some forums to see if other people experience this. Thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it.
